This website was designed by IRO Stephen Perry, with assistance from the IRC at the U.S. Embassy in Kinshasa, DRC. A State Department Public Diplomacy Officer for fifteen years, Stephen is now with a U.S. Embassy in W. Africa.  A brief biography may be found at the bottom of this page.

BIOGRAPHY:

 

IRO Stephen Perry serves as Regional Public Diplomacy Officer with the U.S. Department of State -- he joined the State Department in August 1998, and before that, was a University Professor at a research, land-grant University in the U.S. from 1975 through 1998.  He has given numerous ESL and Internet workshops throughout his State Department career, including workshops in sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, North Africa, and Latin America. Presently, he is working at a U.S. Embassy in West Africa, with regional responsibilities. He has Graduate Degrees in Linguistics, with a concentration in Romance Linguistics and Phonology, and a separate Graduate Degree in Latin American Studies. He also has another Graduate degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Texas at Austin.  Please write him c/o iro@sent.com with any suggestions or ideas or corrections.
